Anniversary of my initial announcement of Kan tour. Since then, Greece, Sweden, Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, VanCouver, Paris, Bangkok, Boulder, Seattle WA, Portland OR, NewYorkCity, Durango CO, Asheville NC, Seven Southern cities in Japan...20 cities and over 26 performances. A lot of ground covered, a lot of people connected to, a lot of learning, a lot of sharing, a lot of everything from heartbreak to ecstacy and everything in between. In short, life has been full this last year. I will never be the same.

Moving forward, I have a deepened sense of what butoh is in a historical context globally and personally, as a world citizen and a united states seattlite. I am encouraged by the diversity of expression somehow linked to Hijikata's initial ankokoh butoh; inexplicitly and expressly butoh emerges as a global Hiroshima boabab, blowing the inner structure open to expansive infinity.

Miracle Machines is the focus of my next work. First in seattle then on to san francisco, elsewhere, then Japan. Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media will work with Peter Golightly (formerly of DumbType) and me plus the rest of the internatioanl artist team Itsy-Ha invites. Itsy-Ha is the name of my dance company; its work will formally debut in 2012.
